My Trek 1000



Just so you know what I'm riding:








Trek1000 modified heavily for hardcore city cycling.

Trek1000 unmodified:Price-$750 retail(i paid 650)

Mods:Kevlar-lined wheels ,similar to Armadillos

Rebuilt Rear Wheel to handle potholes the size of a cow .lol.

topside braking levers,for quickstops

MasterCuff to deter thieves(so far so good,B"H)

Cateye spotlight

Rack on the back for travel panniers

small pack strapped under seatpost

seatpost with a few millimeters of travel to ease the pain when hitting said potholes

Shimano double-sided clipless pedals

and more(dont wanna bore ya all day)

Total price:approx.$1300

Priceless:Smooth machine!

now I find THAT sexy .. I love cycling myself - but don't think I'm in your league - I commute a lot when weather permits - around 50 km round trip - but it is a passion - I have a hybrid.

Hybrids are cool, I consider my silver steed 20% mountain bike since I modified it heavily.

it works for me ... and as it is inter-city (DAMN streetcar tracks LOL) its the best solution - but I'm developing a yen for something that is more about speed and less about comfort ....
